The next Blaby Drama Group production will be 'Trivial Pursuits', a comedy by Frank Vickery, on 2nd, 3rd and 4th April at 7.30pm each evening, to include a Fish and Chip supper. More details here
 

CANCELLED DUE TO COVID-19 LOCKDOWN

Our Spring Film Night programme is all booked and begins with 'Downton Abbey' in March. Tickets are just £5 each and as well as being a great local night out, all profits are used towards the upkeep of the hall. (See Upcoming Events for monthly films)

Our Autumn Film Night programme is up and running and kicked off in September with 'Stan and Ollie' (PG).  It was great to see so many people at our 'Season Premiere'! Fancy picking up some skills on the dance floor? Check out 'Strictly Fun' - the new website for Sheila Firth's dance lessons. With availability three nights a week, as well as a monthly social, there is plenty of opportunity to learn ballroom or latin dance, whether for weddings, vintage events or just to have some fun and gentle exercise!

Thanks to funds raised by our events and hire of the hall, the Blaby & District Social Centre Committee was very pleased to be able to purchase more chairs to match those bought in 2017. This is part of our ongoing refurbishment plans.

In October 2019, Blaby Drama Group presented Lucky Sods by John Godber. As usual, the shows were well attended and thoroughly enjoyed. Another excellent performance! More details here.

On Saturday 8th September, Blaby joined with a worldwide celebration, called The Festival of Life and Death. This festival was all about helping people to feel connected to their own community and keep their brain healthy and active. Read More

Thanks to a fantastic £10,485 funding boost from SUEZ Communities Trust, this summer the hall underwent a number of refurbishments, including sanding and varnishing of the wood block floor, rebuilding of the front of the stage, and redecoration.  Read More

In February 2017, the Blaby & District Social Centre Committee was very pleased to be able to purchase 200 new chairs, funded in part by a grant from Blaby & District Council. This is part of our ongoing refurbishment plans.

D-Tour Theatre Company Presented an Amateur Production of Three One Act Comedies with a Fish and Chip Supper.

Blaby & District Social Centre secured a £21,552 grant from Biffa Award; a multi-million pound fund, as part of the Landfill Communities Fund in order to replace the roof.

Blaby & District Social Centre was very pleased to host Acoustic Folk Music Group Whalebone for a fundraising concert. It was an excellent night of beautiful music and great humour too.
